Granby, November 2nd 2017: Aeronautical Training Program in Granby

Mr. Christian Lacourse, Director of the JH Leclerc School in Granby, welcomed the Aeronautical Training Program (ATP) to be offered to students in Secondary 3, 4 and 5, as of September 2018 and to the secondary 1 and 2 in September 2019

The ATP is promoting a region that is mobilized to ensure the availability of a qualified workforce to support economic growth: Mr. Patrick St-Laurent, General Manager of Granby Industrial, representing the City of Granby, recognizes the value of the ATP that promotes the integration of young people in the region’s leading manufacturing companies.

The ATP prepares students for a pathway in science and technology and introduces them to careers in these fields, thereby addressing the problems of lack of specialized manpower at the source, particularly in the aeronautics sector.

Support from major players

The Aeronautics Training Program at J. Leclerc High School is made possible thanks to the participation of 3 major partners:

  1. City of Granby: Industrial Granby
  2. Safran (Patronage), France
  3. Aviation Connection (The company).

Safran, headquartered in France, is an international high-technology group operating in the fields of propulsion and aeronautical equipment, space and defense. Operating on all continents, the Group employs more than 58,000 people.
The City of Granby through its Industrial Park, has the mission to support and support existing manufacturing companies in their growth, their needs, their stakes and their projects. High-performance companies, located in the Industrial Park, stand out in the aeronautics and advanced technology sector in Granby: ATLAS Aeronautik, NSE-Automatech and A7 Integration, Avior, Fives and others.
For its companies, for the city of Granby, ensuring succession is important, which is why this program plays an important role in the development of the region.
