Dear visitor,

Now that you have visited our website, I am sure you are impressed with  our 13, 14, 15  year old student’s  capacity to engage in exciting challenges  that make the Aviation Connection STEM Program so unique!

Aviation Connection’s STEM Program motivates students to learn Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics through a stimulating activity that introduces them to the fascinating world of aerospace.

The Program inspires teachers who participate in the program; it emphasizes the relationship between a strong educational program in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and a successful career.

It also emphasizes the importance of setting goals, making plans to achieve them, and understanding the need to develop STEM skills that lead to meaningful careers.

The program makes it possible to recruit and integrate more students from minorities who normally do not have access to STEM programs of this level, absolutely free and without prerequisites.

Our schools play a vital role in the future of our society. They are the incubators of our workforce of tomorrow: “The next generation”. It is time that we recognize the importance of their mission: Companies, Governments and Institutions must deploy the necessary efforts and resources to help them develop strategies that will increase the chances of success for OUR young people.

Our young people have great potential! that is why we invite you to help them define themselves, to flourish in an environment conducive to learning Engineering Sciences and Technology. Education is the key to prosperity for all!

Canada is facing a major productivity challenge and the accelerated aging of its population. By stimulating education, we help improve the ability of our businesses to be competitive.

Our technical institutions are struggling to attract the next generation in aerospace. All companies in the sector recognize the need to act quickly to ensure access to a skilled workforce that has placed the country in the ranks of world aerospace leaders.

The STEM program offered in high schools by  Aviation Connection is essential to promote careers in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and essential to ensure a competent next generation capable of facing the challenges ahead.

THE ADVISERS

Samia Beikrit, ing.

Avionics Engineer, Air Canada

I have a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from Polytechnique Montréal and I am passionate about airplanes. I recently joined Air Canada Maintenance Engineering Team and I will be working on different fleets of aircraft as an Engineer. I had the opportunity to work for CAE for 10 years and I have learned so much about customer services, integration, avionics, and installation and delivery. I have worked on different simulators: Boeing 787, Boeing 777x, Airbus 220 etc.

One of my responsibilities was to make sure the simulator was operational and to address technical problems before the arrival of the customer at CAE for the acceptance and the testing of the machine. While working at CAE, I had the opportunity to travel around the world to install & deliver Full Flight Simulators to many customers. I had the chance to discover new cultures and new countries and sometimes places I would have probably never discovered otherwise.

During my free time, I like to travel, go kayaking and hiking and sometimes I bring my Mavic mini..;-).

From my first plane trip, I was marked by the feeling of freedom, the adrenaline of take-off and the beauty of our planet seen from above. For me, the plane was much more than a means of transport, but rather a passion which was immediately confirmed from the first time I was at the controls during my first student pilot flights.

When I finished my DEC in pure science, I started in the aviation field by obtaining my private pilot’s license while getting involved in various general aviation associations! At the same time, I also became a flight attendant and I currently hold the position of purser. This work experience has enriched my sense of rigor, decision-making, management and my understanding of air operations.

Wishing to complete the remaining licenses to become an airline pilot, I continue to increase my flight hours and enrich my knowledge. It will be my pleasure to take part in the Aviation Connection STEM program and help students learn more about the fascinating field of aeronautics.

Véronique Sauvé

Instructor

Hello! My name is Veronique. Aviation is an interest that I have always dreamed of developing, and it was at the dawn of my forties that I chose to make a career change in order to embark on pilot training.

Bachelor in communications, in my previous career in digital business management, I had different roles that led me to focus on the importance of human relations, in a rigorous work environment, but based on the pleasure of learning and to surpass oneself.

Having the chance to be a simulator instructor with young aviation enthusiasts allows me to share my passion and develop my skillset differently.

I completed my private (PPL) and commercial (CPL) licenses, as well as my multi-engine (ME) and instrument (IFR) ratings at Lachute Aviation. I am currently looking for a job as a pilot.

Florian Stache
